He acquired a Sports Medicine Fellowship in Baylor College of Medicine, Houston TX. In Baylor Sports Institute he participated as Assistant Physician Staff of the NFL Houston Texans, The Houston Astros, The University of Houston, Texas Southern University, and Houston Inner School District.
Currently, Dr. Mayol is an Associate Professor of University of Puerto Rico, in the Carolina-UPR Hospital. Working in the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Juan, P.R., he is also part of the UPR-RCM Orthopedic Residency Program, as an attending actively teaching orthopedic surgeons the latest techniques. He is Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at San Francisco Hospital. Dr. Mayol is also a Mayor in the United States Army Reserve as part of the 369th Combat Support Hospital, stationed in Puerto Nuevo, P.R.
Dr. Mayol is also the Team Physician for the USL professional soccer league, Puerto Rican Islanders, and has been Team Physician or consultant for World's Best 10 K, Arena Football 2 Championship, FIFA CONCACAF, and Fraigcomar FC soccer club.
